is of course part of the United Kingdom (Britain), so why didn't we go the whole
hog and create a UK Portal? There are two principal reasons why we took this
course:

There are already a number of
sites that deal with the UK as a whole

We wanted to create more than
a directory. Our ambition is to create a resource for England, so that visitors
can either find what they want about England on our site, or failing that, our
directory will list a site that contains the information.
Marvelous countries that they
are, we do not cover Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. Indeed the politically
correct brigade have made it hard to be proud of being English today. The Welsh
and Scots are allowed their own parliament, and they are allowed to be proud of
their country, but try walking about with an English flag today, and one is
liable to be accused of racism.
While we are proud to be British,
we are also proud of being English.
