Devon Apple in an out
This is a warm and filling pudding ideal for keeping out those winter
afternoon chills. It combines the crunchy crust of suet with the sweetness of apples and creamy hot custard.
Slice some apples into a bowl
Add enough self-raising flour to coat them
Add some suet and sugar
Mix together and add a little water (just enough to dampen)
so it all sticks together.
Put in a shallow greased dish
Cover with foil for the first 30 minutes at 180’c
Then uncover to crisp top for about 45 minutes
Serve hot with lashings of hot custard.
