Naturally, on a visit to Windsor Castle, the beautiful Chapel of St George is a must see. It's splendid tombs are numerous, and one of the most eye-catching has to be the ill-fated only daughter of George the Fourth, who died giving birth at the age of 20. Not only royal tombs here but many noblemen and women such as the unfortunate Lord Hastings, who was savagely executed at the Tower by Richard the Third. King Edward the Third's huge sword hangs menacingly in the north aisle, not too far from the plain tomb of the much venerated Henry the Sixth. King George the Fifth and Queen Mary's wonderful burial place simply has to be mentioned here, as their stunningly beautiful white marble-like effigies laying majestically atop their tomb, are a delightful but moving sight. Within the great quoir are marked [by a large plaque] the mortal remains of Henry the Eighth, and Charles the First - two very different monarchs from two very different England's. Jane Seymour, mother of Edward the Sixth [who was interred in his grandfather, Henry Tudor's tomb, in Westminster Abbey] lies close to her husband, Henry the Eighth, within the same vault.
